What is a similarity between sheep and people?

People, like sheep, tend to follow a leader -- occasionally in the right direction.

     - Alexander Chase, Born 1926, American Journalist, editor

I couldn't find any more information about Alexander Chase, except for a lot of quotes attributed to him. If you know where I can find more information, leave a comment.

Here are a few more of his quotes:

  • A man's home is his wife's castle.
  • A soft refusal is not always taken, but a rude one is immediately believed.
  • Memory is the thing you forget with.
  • More and more people care about religious tolerance as fewer and fewer care about religion.
  • The most imaginative people are the most credulous, for them everything is possible.
  • There are few successful adults who were not first successful children.
  • To remain young one must change. The perpetual campus hero is not a young man but an old boy.
  • To understand is to forgive, even oneself.

When is a little better than a lot?

The smallest good deed is better than the grandest intention.

     - Unknown

I've seen it attributed to Duguet and as a Japanese proverb. I could not find out who Duget is. Anyone       know?

A similar quote is attributed  to  Oscar  Wilde:  The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.
